Cosmetic or Aesthetic dentistry can be used to repair or improve the appearance of teeth. Treatments are available to correct crooked, mis-coloured, badly damaged or heavily filled teeth. Cosmetic dentistry is a great way to help you feel better about your teeth and increase your confidence in the way you smile.
Cosmetic dental treatments often include the combined use of a variety of techniques from simply cleaning the teeth to whitening and replacing amalgams with tooth coloured restorations – to more advanced treatments such as placement of veneers, fitting porcelain crowns and inlays, dental implants and the possible use of orthodontics.
Before any advanced cosmetic treatment is started we take a full patient history and discuss your goals. We gather detailed records which include photos of your mouth and make hand held study models of your teeth. We then create a 3-D waxed model on these for you to see the possible end result before you proceed with treatment. We also show you photos of our previous cases to help you visualise how we can achieve a stunning end result. We work very closely with our laboratory to ensure you get the exact solution you are searching for.
Once we have decided on the best course of treatment with you, a fully itemised treatment plan is handed to you, along with the treatment order, and a time line for each part of the treatment, to help you decide how to proceed. We will never pressurise you to have work done and we will explain each step carefully and professionally as you proceed, with each treatment plan being specifically tailored to your individual needs and wishes.
The cosmetic options we offer at The Lodge Dental Practice can bring the smile back to your face and restore lost confidence caused by unsightly teeth – a real smile makeover.
