Adrenalin Facts

Quite often patients say they are allergic to adrenalin in local anaesthetic. Just to reassure you - firstly adernalin is produced naturally in your own body so it would be unlikely you could be 'allergic' to it and secondly adrenalin is used as the first drug of choice if you were to have an acute allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction). We can provide anaesthetic without adrenalin for those patients who are still concerned.
